Booking & Availability

  • How far in advance should I book a photo session?

    I recommend booking at least 6 months in advance, especially for peak season (May through October) when Naxos is busiest with tourists, and my calendar fills quickly. For destination weddings, book 12-18 months ahead to secure your preferred date.

    Last-minute bookings are available and welcome through my online booking system with instant confirmation at the Bookings page.

    Early booking ensures you get your preferred date, time slot (golden hour sessions are most popular), and choice of locations. If you're planning a surprise proposal or special celebration, advance booking also gives us time to coordinate all the details perfectly.

  • The process is simple and takes about five minutes:

    1. Browse sessions—Explore packages on the Bookings page (couples, family, weddings, proposals) — and book online with instant confirmation.

    2. Get in touch— Email info@naxosphotographer.com with your dates, session type, and any special requests. I reply within 24 hours.

    3. Secure your date—A €30 non-refundable deposit locks your slot and covers preparation, including location scouting and timeline planning.

    4. Receive your preparation pack— Booking confirmation, location recommendations, a what-to-wear guide, and a session timeline.

    5. Final payment—Due on the day via card, bank transfer, or cash (in euros).

  • Are you available outside of Naxos?

    Absolutely. While Naxos is my home base, I photograph throughout Greece and internationally:

    • Cyclades islands— Santorini, Mykonos, Paros, Antiparos, and more (regularly)

    • Other Greek islands— Crete, Rhodes, Corfu, Zakynthos, across the Aegean and Ionian seas

    • Mainland Greece— Athens, Thessaloniki, Meteora, Peloponnese

    • International destination weddings— Available across Europe and worldwide

    Contact me with your destination and dates. I'll confirm availability and provide a full quote, including travel. Multi-location itineraries for Greek islands are very welcome.

  • All sessions include advanced editing, high-resolution digital files (300 DPI, 4,000+ pixels), and delivery via a private online gallery.

    • Optional add-ons: rush editing (48–72 hours, €125), additional hours, drone footage, photo albums, and travel throughout Greece.

    Greek VAT is included in all prices.

  • This is one of the most common questions I receive. Here's what the premium actually pays for:

    • Editor-level post-production: Every image undergoes professional colour grading, natural retouching, and my signature distraction removal: power lines, rubbish bins, passing tourists — all gone, on Signature Packages. Essential Packages editing is limited to colour grading. This takes hours per session and is what separates a polished gallery from ordinary holiday snaps.

    • Location expertise: I pre-scout every session, arrive early, and know exactly where the light falls on Naxos at every hour of the day. You're not paying for someone to figure it out on the day.

    • Reliability systems: Backup cameras, dual memory-card recording, professional insurance, a clear contract, and 7+ years without a missed booking.

    • International client experience: The majority of my clients travel from abroad. I handle permits, timing, weather contingencies, and vendor coordination so you don't have to.

    • Credit / Debit Cards— Visa, Mastercard, American Express, processed securely

    • Bank Transfer— SEPA (EU clients) or international wire (fees may apply)

    • Cash— Euros accepted on the day

    Detailed invoices are provided for all transactions. Wedding packages over €1,000: 50% deposit, balance before the wedding day.

  • As a local photographer, I guide you to the right location for your style, the time of day, and current conditions:

    • The Portara (Temple of Apollo)— the island's iconic gateway, breathtaking at golden hour

    • Naxos Old Town (Chora)— whitewashed alleys, the Venetian Castle, and an authentic village atmosphere

    • Plaka Beach— wide, uncrowded, perfect for barefoot sunset sessions

    • Hidden coves, marble quarries, mountain villages— locations most tourists never find

    All recommendations are made after understanding your vision. I handle timing and positioning so the light always works in your favour.

  • Light, flowing fabrics photograph beautifully in the Mediterranean setting:

    • Women— Maxi dresses, flowing skirts, or elegant resort wear in white, ivory, pastels, or earth tones

    • Men— Linen shirts with light trousers; blues and earth tones work wonderfully

    • Couples— Coordinate colours without exact matching; complementary tones create visual harmony

    • Avoid— Heavy logos, busy patterns, all-black in bright sun

    Bring two or three outfit options for variety. After booking, you'll receive a detailed style guide tailored to your session type, chosen locations, and time of day.

  • Completely — and this is something I specialise in. You don't need any photography experience or modelling background.

    • Gentle, natural posing guidance throughout — you'll never feel stiff or awkward.

    • Candid, emotion-led storytelling interwoven with guided poses

    • Specific experience with camera-shy clients, plus-size couples, and multi-generational families

    • Patient and playful with toddlers, babies, and children of all ages

      INCLUSIVE BY DESIGN

    I work with all body types, ages, orientations, and family structures. LGBTQ+ couples, multicultural families, and non-traditional celebrations are warmly welcome.

  • Proposals are among my favourite sessions. Here's how it works:

    1. Planning consultation—We discuss your vision, the ideal location (the Portara at sunset is most popular), and the exact timing.

    2. Discreet positioning— I arrive early and blend into the scenery, camera in hand, completely invisible.

    3. The moment— I photograph from the question through the reaction, the ring, and your celebration.

    4. The reveal session—After the "yes," I introduce myself, and we continue with a romantic couples session.

    From €250 · 50+ edited photos · Sneak Peek photos in 2 hours and Full Gallery delivered within 48 hours so you can share your news straight away. I can also coordinate musicians, champagne, or family reveals.

  • Destination wedding photography requires booking 12–18 months ahead for peak season (May–October). My process:

  • I don't personally provide styling, but I'm happy to connect you with talented professionals in Naxos who specialise in photoshoot preparation. These are genuine professional relationships — I'm not compensated for referrals. Hair and makeup services are typically €80–150, depending on the services, and are billed directly by the stylist.

    For wedding packages, I coordinate timing with your hair and makeup team to capture preparation photos while keeping everything on schedule.

  • For destination clients booking from abroad, technical reliability matters as much as creative quality. Here is exactly what I bring to every session:

    • Dual camera bodies— if one fails, the session continues without interruption

    • Dual memory card recording— every image is written to two cards simultaneously; file loss is technically impossible

    • Encrypted cloud backup— files uploaded and secured within 24 hours of your session

    • Backup lenses and lighting— no single point of equipment failure

    • Professional indemnity and equipment insurance

    • Transportation redundancy— I arrive early and plan for ferry delays and access conditions

    Second shooters are available on request and recommended for weddings over 8 hours or events with simultaneous locations.

    TRACK RECORD

    In 7+ years and hundreds of sessions on Naxos, I have never missed a booking due to circumstances within my control. Reliability is not a side note — it is a core part of what you're hiring.

  • In the rare event that illness, emergency, or force majeure prevents me from providing your services:

    • Full refund guarantee— every payment returned in full, immediately

    • Maximum advance notice— you'll be informed as early as possible to make alternative arrangements

    • Backup photographer network— for weddings and critical events, I maintain relationships with trusted Naxos professionals. With your agreement, I can arrange a qualified substitute at the same rate.

    My financial liability is limited to refunding payments made for photography services.

    • Light clouds / overcast— often ideal; soft, even light that flatters faces and avoids harsh shadows

    • Strong wind— creates movement, drama, and energy that makes images feel alive.

    • Light rain— can create beautiful reflections and intimacy; I'll honestly advise on whether to proceed.d

    • Severe weather— if conditions make photography unsafe or impossible, we reschedule at no penalty

    I will never pressure you to shoot in conditions that compromise your gallery. Your images matter more than the calendar.

    • Cancel any time— €30 deposit is non-refundable (compensates for reserved slot and preparation)

    • Reschedule 7+ days before— complimentary once; deposit transfers to the new date.

    • Reschedule less than 7 days before— €50 rescheduling fee

    • Cancel less than 7 days before— deposit forfeited + 50% of remaining balance due

    • Weather cancellation— free reschedule if conditions are mutually agreed to be unsafe

    • If I cannot perform— full refund of all payments made

Editing, Delivery & Files

  • My house style is true-to-life colour with cinematic depth and natural retouching — images that look polished and timeless, never over-filtered or fake.

    Every delivered photo includes professional colour grading and exposure optimisation when the Essential Package is chosen. Signature includes natural skin retouching and my signature distraction removal — power lines, rubbish bins, and passing tourists, all removed.

    I also offer an optional moody/cinematic version of key images for clients who want variety. Before-and-after examples are available on request.

    WHAT I DON'T DO

    Heavy skin-smoothing that looks plastic, oversaturated filters, or trendy presets that will look dated in 3 years. Your images are meant to last.

  • I use my professional expertise to curate your gallery — selecting the best images based on sharpness, expressions, emotional impact, and gallery flow. I don't deliver test shots, technical errors, duplicates, or frames with closed eyes.

    WORRIED ABOUT A SPECIFIC MOMENT?

    Tell me during the session which combinations, people, or locations you want guaranteed. If you later notice something missing, email me — I'll check unpublished images and add any worthy frames at no charge.

    • Couples & Family sessions— 1–3 weeks

    • Wedding photography— 3–5 weeks

    • Proposal photography— 2 hours for reveal images; 4–8 days for full gallery

    • Rush editing available: €125 for 48–72 hour delivery · €50 for 1-week delivery. Request at the time of booking or immediately after your session.

    • Photos are delivered via a private, password-protected online gallery. You'll receive an email the moment your gallery is ready.

  • Resolution— 300 DPI, the professional printing standard

    Dimensions— Minimum 4,000 pixels on the longest side (typically 4,000×5,800 or larger)

    Format— High-quality JPEG; excellent detail, easy to share and print

  • Yes — additional editing is available at €30 per image, including advanced skin work, background changes, sky replacement, object removal, B&W conversions, and creative composites.

    Rush additional editing is available for an additional € 10 per image, with 2–3 day delivery. Contact me for volume pricing on gallery-wide adjustments.

Rights, Albums & Sharing

  • Who owns the photographs?

    I retain full copyright as the creator. You receive an unlimited personal use licence for all delivered photos — social media, printing, personal albums, gifts, personal websites and blogs.

    Commercial use, media publication, advertising, or competition entry requires separate permission. Contact me to discuss licensing.

    I may use your photos in my portfolio and marketing. If you'd prefer certain images kept private — for example, a surprise proposal before your announcement — say the word.

  • Absolutely — please do. A tag with @naxosphotographer or a credit of "Photos by Naxos Photographer" is not required, but is deeply appreciated. Please share files as delivered, without applying additional filters or heavy cropping, and always download the full-resolution files rather than taking screenshots.

    • Premium lay-flat albums— archival pages, luxury covers (leather, linen, or photo-wrap), sizes 8×8″ to 12×12″, 20–60 spreads. From €150. Protective case included.

    • Modern photo books— softcover or hardcover, magazine-style layouts. From €60. Great for guest books or gifts.

    I personally design your album layout from your delivered gallery. You approve a digital proof before printing. Colour-calibrated archival printing with a 100+ year lifespan. Production takes 3–4 weeks after photo delivery.

  • This policy exists to protect the quality of your investment. Multiple photographers at the same location create conflicting directions, cameras appearing in the background of shots, competition for the best angles, and a rushed atmosphere instead of a relaxed one.

    When you book me, I decline all other clients for that time and location. Having another photographer present effectively brings a second client into your reserved session.

    If friends also want photos, I can photograph multiple couples or families in a group session, arrange back-to-back sessions, or recommend trusted colleagues for simultaneous bookings at different locations.
